In July, SSDC divers competed at the AAU Diving National Championships in Huntersville, North Carolina. Congratulations to SSDC's AAU NATIONAL DIVING CHAMPION: BRENNA SHORT
We had an outstanding group of divers this year in Captain Lauren O'Sullivan, Grace Magee, Finn Paterson, Brooke Leggat, Olivia Templeton, Brenna Short, Amanda Bross, Matthew Cristofaro, and Sadie Him. All 9 SSDC Divers were tough competitors and 3 divers, Brenna Short (1m & 3m), Olivia Templeton (1 & 3 meter) and Amanda Bross (1m & 3 meter) emerged as AAU "ALL AMERICAN" (Top 12 in the country). CONGRATULATIONS!!!
SSDC divers embody the best qualities of sportsmanship, work ethic, and pride, fostered by a close-knit, supportive team community. We take seriously the development of our athletes as competitive divers in a safe and methodical way, but are most proud of how they apply the leadership lessons learned from diving as they move beyond the world of diving: to college, work, and beyond. SSDC divers proudly represent their team, their schools, and their communities, competing at local, state, and national competitions, and maybe someday as an Olympic hopeful!
SSDC alumni continue their diving success as Juniors Gabby Taghian and Cece O'Reilly competing for BOSTON COLLEGE making BC tough to beat in 2017! Junior, Hannah Mudge is diving for GEORGIA SOUTHERN and Junior Mackenzie Hagist, dives for NORTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY in Boston. Representing LOYOLA UNIVERSITY is Senior, Maggie Garrahan.
Good luck to all the SSDC divers who are diving in college! You make SSDC very proud!

South Shore Diving Club (SSDC) was founded in 2004 in an effort to help kids achieve their athletic diving goals. All the coaches at SSDC are continually learning more and more from our athletes than I think that they learn from their coaches. Here are some of our accomplishments:
The Team's focus with these young athletes is to lead by example and that there is no substitute for hard work and working as a team to achieve your goals. I am so proud of the team's accomplishments, but I know it is just the tip of the iceberg!
Coach Craig Dolloff grew up on the South Shore in Duxbury, MA and he got involved with diving when he was 11 years old as part of the original Duxbury Aqua-Dux Swimming and Diving Team. The summer recreation team practiced at a pond behind Miramar School in Duxbury until the town built the Percy Walker Pool on 175 St. George Street in Duxbury. The entire Coaching staff of SSDC has a passion for elevating the sport of diving and are driven to help each and every diver reach their diving goals.
Coach Dolloff, is one of the top springboard diving instructors on the east coast. Craig and his staff has molded the club and its divers into one of the top all-around diving programs in the country, having divers win National and High School State Diving Championships.
In 2007, the first SSDC diver qualified for the AAU National Diving Championships, and since then, we have never looked back: SSDC divers have qualified for AAU Nationals every year since!
Since 2009, SSDC divers have earned AAU ALL-AMERICAN Diving Honors. Currently, the club has divers that come from all over the South Shore of Massachusetts and beyond to get college level instruction and better.
A SSDC coach since 2008, Chris Benisch's passion for diving started at age 9 jumping off the ten-meter tower at Dartmouth College.
Chris dove for the Manhasset Bay Yacht Club on the North Shore of Long Island. Before diving in high school he was introduced to the legendary Hazel Barr and began training at the Flushing YMCA in Queens, NY. With Hazel, he learned to appreciate and respect all aspects of diving.
Chris is an accomplished diver and an invaluable Team Coach and SSDC is lucky to have him! Chris focuses on building diver fundamentals one of the top coaches in the Northeast.
Taryn is SSDC's most accomplished diver and is now a coach for SSDC. A Quincy native, Taryn dove for the Quincy High School where she was a NISCA 2 time- High School All-American, (Top 100 In the USA) and set the Massachusetts State 6-dive record @ 312.00.
As a college diver at UCONN, Taryn qualified and competed in the NCAA, Division 1 National Diving Championships competing among the best in the world.
Taryn is a coach that leads by example and is a 2-time Captain of the UCONN Swimming and Diving Team.
